StyleCut: a pnpm monorepo covering a web app, an entitlements package with Ed25519 offline licensing, a payments package on ZiniPay, a style engine and an admin tool. Renders video through a style compiler rather than assembled command strings.

The Engineering Challenge
Video effects assembled as ffmpeg command strings break in ways that are hard to see — a quoting error or an argument order change produces a different video, not an error. Licensing also had to survive a machine being offline.
The Solution & Architecture
Renders go through a style compiler that builds the filter graph as data rather than as concatenated text. Entitlements are Ed25519-signed and verified locally, so a paid feature keeps working without a licence server to call. The monorepo splits entitlements, payments and the style engine into packages so the web app and the admin tool share one implementation.
