The Engineering Challenge
The client hosts on BDIX shared hosting through cPanel, not a VPS. No Redis, no Supervisor, no FFmpeg, no Node, no Composer on the server, and symlinks that cannot be relied on — most of the Laravel defaults assume none of that is true.
The Solution & Architecture
Every default was swapped for something the host can actually run: file cache with database queue and sessions, a cron running queue:work --stop-when-empty --max-time=55 in place of Supervisor, YouTube embeds instead of transcoding, uploads written straight into public/uploads rather than through a symlink, and assets plus vendor/ built locally and uploaded. composer.json pins config.platform.php to 8.2.0 so dependency resolution matches the server rather than the laptop.
